Main Duties and Responsibilities.

Moving Service Users

Support service users being moved:
  • Support service users as they change from one place of care to another.
  • Enable service users to become familiar with different care situations.
  • Enable service users to transfer around the home
Contribute to the movement and treatment of service users to
maximise their physical comfort
:
  • Prepare service users and environment for moving and lifting.
  • Assist service users to move from one position to another.
  • Assist service users to prevent and minimise adverse effects of pressure.
Service User Care:

Enable Service User to maintain their personal and hygiene
appearance:

  • Enable service users to maintain personal cleanliness.
  • Support service users in personal grooming and dressing.

Enable Service Users to eat and drink:

  • Enable service users to choose appropriate food and drink.
  • Enable service users to prepare for eating and drinking.
  • Assist service users with eating and drinking.

Enable Service Users to access and use toilet facilities:

  • Enable service users to access toilet facilities.
  • Assist service users to use toilet facilities

Enable Service User to achieve physical comfort:

  • Assist in minimising service users discomfort and pain.
  • Assist in providing conditions to meet service users need for rest.

Enable Service Users to maintain and improve their mobility:

  • Enable service users to exercise.
  • Assist the service user to use mobility appliances.

Prepare Service User beds:

  • Clean and make beds

Assist with basic life support:

  • Perform CPR (First Aid qualified)
  • Provide basic First Aid.
Service User Well Being:

  • Maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Promote and support individual rights and choice within service delivery.

Contribute to the ongoing support of service users, relatives and carers:

  • Enable service users to maintain their interests, identity and emotional
    wellbeing.
  • Enable service users to maintain contact with family and friends.
  • Support members of the service users family during visits.
  • Enable the family and friends of the service user to support the service user

Contribute to the health, safety and security of individuals and their
environment:

  • Contribute to the promotion of service users’ health.
  • Contribute to maintaining the safety and security of service users and their
    belongings.
  • Contribute to maintaining the safety and security of the service users
    Environment.
  • Maintain personal standards of health, safety and security.
  • Respond in the event of a health emergency
Cleaning and Tidying:

Contribute to the cleaning of surfaces:

  • Carry out simple cleaning and tidying tasks in the homes
